About Us

Moniaive Initiative is a community organisation, established in 2013 to deliver legacy projects for Moniaive and Glencairn.   Our organisations aims and objectives are:

  • To relieve rural isolation, social & economic disadvantage due to remote location
  • To advance sustainable community development
  • To encourage participation in education, arts & culture and leisure for all individuals in the community.

Moniaive Initiative is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, Registered No SC044760.  This is a legal form unique to Scottish Charities.  You can find out more about SCIOs at:   http://www.oscr.org.uk

We are a member of the Development Trusts Association Scotland, the community-led Regeneration network.

We are always looking for new members.  Membership is open to Glencairn residents over the age of 18 years. There is no charge to join, and you don’t have to attend regular meetings.  Becoming a member gives you the opportunity to easily share with us your ideas and views on what we are doing, and allows us to demonstrate community support for our work.  To join, simply complete and return the Membership Application Form, which you can find here:
