Our Glencairn Banner was finished on time, and took part in the Nithraid parade through Dumfries on Saturday 15 August 2026. A big thank you to the volunteers who helped us to make the banner; to Elizabeth Stephenson, textile artist, who guided the process; to Antoine Lemaire for leading two excellent walks, and to everyone at Nithraid and EcoArt.

We would just like to say a big ‘Thank You!’ to textile artist Elizabeth Stephenson and our merry band of volunteers for creating a wonderful banner to represent Glencairn in the Nithraid.

The ‘Salty Coo’ will process from Midsteeple, down through Dumfries town centre to Mill Green, starting at 11am on Saturday 15th August. We’ll be there, with our new banner. Why not come along and support us!

There will be lots of activities to keep you busy on Mill Green after the procession, while you wait for the boats to arrive (from 2pm onwards).
